The Fall brings in cool weather, shorter days, and changes of leave colors. Every year I try to find accommodations in New York State that would take me away from the hustle and bustle of New York City and to an area that is serene and surrounded by trees. This year I decided on Bear Mountain Inn. Just 45 minutes away from NYC, The Bear Mountain Inn is in the heart of Bear Mountain. The Bear Mount Inn offers 15 guestrooms and suites, dining and a spa. New York State residents are eligible for a discount. I was able to get close to half the cost of one night.
There is a lot to do in the area. During the month of October you can enjoy Oktoberfest. Check out 2014’s events here. There is hiking, sports, canoeing and more.
Tip: If planning on a trip to Bear Mountain during Octoberfest, make sure you get there early. As you get near Bear Mountain you will hit really bad traffic!
